Rest Institute is an organization built on a simple premise: in an age of relentless acceleration, the capacity to pause is a social need, not a luxury.

I. Mission

We established the Rest Institute to remind us of the intelligence of nature and our bodies. As an active farm, the Institute backs on to a nature reserve and ecological wetland. We offer quiet, lush, and secluded areas for retreat to artists, activists, and academics in need of rest, research, and recalibration.
